| Stellar Award Winner Ted Winn Signs with Shanachie Entertainment |
Ted Winn of the Stellar-winning Ted & Sheri duo is back on the gospel scene after a five-year recording hiatus. Over the last decade, Ted & Sheri were known for riveting gospel smashes such as “Come Ye Disconsolate” and “Celebrate.” Now, Winn has re-emerged with a new recording label, a new look and a new sound that is sure to thrill Ted & Sheri fans while attracting a new audience of music lovers. Winn’s Teddys Jamz production company has inked a deal with Shanachie Entertainment – the recording home to artists as diverse as Leela James and the Grammy-winning Soweto Gospel Choir. “We are excited to sign Ted Winn,” says Shanachie general manager Randall Grass. “Coming on the heels of high-profile releases by Kim Burrell and Vicki Yohe, our release of Ted's album will be an important step in Shanachie's growth as a significant player in the gospel arena. Ted is not only a first-rate singer and songwriter but his unique style enables him to deliver a very special kind of inspirational performance that sets him apart.” Winn’s trademark locks have always set him apart. He’s clipped them and sports a short coif that he says reflects his new personal and professional metamorphosis. He’s also expanded his musical palette with a mix of original praise and worship songs, deep gospel tunes and message songs such as the radio hit, “God Believes in You” that is currently #25 on the Billboard Hot Gospel songs chart. The set features cameos by gospel legend Vanessa Bell Armstrong, DeWayne Woods, Jonathan Nelson and Myron Butler. “I wanted to create a project that would inspire people to live a balanced life,” Winn says of the Balance CD. “A life that incorporates a blend of spiritual self, physical self and emotional self. By that I mean by incorporating God, family, work philanthropy, recreation and relaxation, we create a balanced life.” MEDIA CONTACT: Bill Carpenter at (202) 506-5051 or carpenterbill@mac.com |
